How do I keep all my dog records organized? I use Puppy Toes Dog Records. This program is ideal for dog breeders who wish to keep ownership, breeding, and medical records all in one place. It saves your individual dog records as program data files, and also as html files (webfiles). Your dog records can be edited as often as need be. The html files can be opened in your browser, and then printed. To see an example of an html file produced by Puppy Toes Dog Records, click here. The program is available as trialware through Terragethen via an arrangement with the program author, Carroll Dearstone. You may download the "lite" version for trial use. The lite version is limited to three breeding and three medical records per dog, but there is no time limit. Once you've determined the program will meet your needs, you may order the full, unlimited version. The cost is only $20., as compared to similar (but much more complicated and difficult to use) programs priced at $99. Limited support is available for the lite version; full support is available for the full version.

Installation instructions: Create a folder in your "C" directory called "PTDRM" (or whatever you want to name it). Download the zip file either to that folder, or to a temporary folder. Unzip the file to the folder you created. Fill in your breed and color choices on the .txt files. Double-click on the program icon to open and start using it.

* You must have a zip program to open the file. There are many free ones available on download.com and freewarefiles.com.

Are you tired of filling out the AKC litter record form by hand? I made an html form which I'm happy to share. Copy the code from this page, and customize it anyway you like. Or, download the zipfile here. An example of a started litter record form is here. You can add spaces for larger litters, or take them away for smaller litters. Copy and paste a blank "table" for additional litters. When you're done, open the page in your browser and print it. If you need help, feel free to email me.
